The differences I anticipated between American, German, and Japanese schools included length of the school day, the school year, certification differences for teachers, and what they felt was important in education to focus on. Japan being known for technology and product development, Iexpecedt the math and sciences to be a priority and to be covered more in depth than in America and only slightly more so than Germany, since Germany is known for their Sciences also. Having gone to an American school, I was not at all surprised to learn that "we" focused in defining vocab and really just rote memorization but I was a little surprised to see that that was the majority of what was focused on comparatively to what Japan and Germany do.
